October Jacket Athletes of the Month

Volleyball – Gabi Ashcraft, Senior, Setter

Gabi is in her second season as our starting varsity setter. She suffered a chipped bone in her right hand after our match with Royse City and only missed 2 matches, returning to lead her team to 3 set sweeps of Heath and Horn and an undefeated district record.

Football – Jake Overstreet, Junior, Safety

Jake was the Defensive Player of the Week against Mesquite with 9 tackles and 2 tackles for loss.  On the season, Jake has 54 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 1 sack and 1 interception.  Jake also makes a huge contribution on special teams and is responsible for several big plays!  Jake is a great leader on and off the field and brings a positive spirit to everything he is involved in.

Swim Team (boys) – Juan Franquiz

Juan’s commitment to swimming has increased and he is putting more time in the pool. This hard work has helped him build the endurance to swim three times the amount that he used to!  So proud of Juan and his hard work.

Swim Team (girls) – Ava Langston

Ava is a great senior!  Last year, Ava made the state team for the very first time.  Then this past Summer she made her Junior Nationals time standards.  Because of her hard work, Ava committed this week to swim for the University of Idaho Vandals Swim Team.
