Rockwall Jacket Athletes of the Month

Each month, the Jacket Backers, Rockwall High School’s Booster Club selects student athletes who are nominated by their coach for Jacket Athlete of the Month.  For the month of March, Brennan Ray, James Watkins, Coyt Huston, Jaxson Stuart, Ashley Chiu, Aiden Krause, Parker Thomas and Rylie Swindall were each nominated by their coaches and selected as Jacket Athletes of the Month.

Brennan Ray, Senior Forward for Boys Basketball was nominated by Coach Williams.  “Brennan Ray was our 2nd leading scorer in the month of February with 11 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game. Helping us finish 2nd in district and beat our crosstown rival Heath and was an essential piece of the puzzle for making playoffs. At the conclusion of the season he was awarded First Team All-District. Brennan is a great teammate that is unselfish and always has a smile on his face, but has the determination that others strive to emulate. He is a great competitor and excellent student that has his teammates respect, and is sure to excel when he plays football for West Texas A&M. We have enjoyed coaching Brennan for the past 4 years with three of those years on varsity. Brennan exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete for Rockwall High School, and is a great example of what others should strive to be like.”

James Watkins
, Senior All-Around for Men’s Gymnastics, nominated by Coach Sweny went on to add, “James is a team Co-Captain for this season's team.  He has led this team to a great start to the season.  James Competed twice in the month of March.  Once at a home meet with Bell and Trinity, and again at the Battle for the Rock.  James placed top three and scored for the team on pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar at the meet against Trinity and Bell.  He placed top 3 and scored for the team on pommel horse, parallel bars, and high bar at the battle for the rock.”

Coyt Huston, Senior Rings for Men’s Gymnastics, was nominated by Coach Sweny. “Coyt is a team Co-Captain for this season's team. He has led this team to a great start to the season. Coyt Competed twice in the month of March. Once at a home meet with Bell and Trinity, and again at the Battle for the Rock.  Coyt placed top three and scored for the team on rings at the meet against Bell and Trinity.  He also took 1st place and scored for the team on rings at the Battle for the Rock.”

Jaxson Stuart, Senior for Men’s Swimming, was nominated by Coach Partenheimer. “With our swim season at an end, we are getting ready for our next season.  Jaxson has been putting in the work to get ready.”

Ashley Chiu, Sophomore for Girl’s Swimming, was nominated by Coach Partenheimer. “Just like Jaxson, Ashley has been putting in the work to get ready for next season”

Aiden Krause, Senior Goalie for Boy’s Water Polo was nominated by Coach Partenheimer. “This past weekend, we went to the Prosper ISD Aquatic Center.  Aiden has double digit saves for both games.  The games were against Prosper High School and Waco Midway High School.”

Parker Thomas, Senior for Girl’s Water Polo was nominated by Coach Partenheimer. “She lead the team with steals and turnovers this past weekend at the Prosper ISD Aquatic Center.  The girls played against Waco Midway High School, Prosper High School and Rock Hill High School.

Rylie Swindall, freshman for Softball was nominated by Coach Campbell. “Rylie is a fierce competitor, and although she is just a freshman, she has a softball IQ like a veteran. She is a major offensive threat as a slapper with unmatched speed, and is hitting .508 on the season with 31 hits, including 4 triples and an in the park homerun. She knows how to read the defense of the other team so well, and has the ability to make her own decisions about whether to hit or bunt in any situation on offense. Not only is she a great athlete with incredible coachability on the field, but an even better young woman off the field. She has a servant's heart, is genuine, kind, and always willing to help anyone in any way. She truly embodies what it takes to be a great teammate and competitor as a Lady Jacket.

Congratulations to each of these Rockwall High School Athletes!
