Each month, the Jacket Backers, Rockwall High School’s Booster Club selects student athletes who are nominated by their coach for Jacket Athlete of the Month. For the month of November, Kaden Shelburne, Madison Goellner, Matthew Hafele, Britain Chew, Jarrett Stoner, Alix Schneneman, Caden Garner, Ethan Phelps, Josie Purcell, and Lexie Purcell were each nominated by their coaches and selected as Jacket Athletes of the Month.
Madison Goellner, Junior Outside Hitter, was nominated by Coach Ferguson. “Madison played an interval roll in our team's playoff success. She plays all 6 rotations and impacts every aspect of the game.”
Matthew Hafele, Senior Pommel Horse for Men’s Gymnastics, was nominated by Coach Sweny. “Matthew is a senior on our team and has taken on a leadership role for this season. We had our 1st meet on 11/19 against Round Rock and Rudder. Matthew scored a perfect 10.0 on Pommel horse and helped lead our team to our first victory of the season.”
Britain Chew, Senior for Women’s Wrestling, was nominated by Coach Johnston. “Brit is a senior wrestler who is currently undefeated on the season at 4-0. She helped her women's team secure 3rd place in our district dual championships over break.”
Jarrett Stoner, Senior for Men’s Wrestling, was nominated by Coach Johnston. “Jarrett just finsihed up a successful football season and wasted no time and got right to the mat. He played on Saturday at the play-off game and was on the mat Monday for our District Dual Championship. Jarrett helped lead his team to a District Dual Title beating Heath 36-35 in the finals. He is currently undefeated on the season. He has done much more than what is seen on the mat since he has been back. Jarrett has added a level of leadership and tenacity to our men's program that was much needed.”
Alix Schneneman,
Senior for Women’s Golf was nominated by Coach Watkins. “Alix has led the Lady
Jackets in scoring in 3 of our 4 fall events.
She is a captain and a leader and has also just received an offer to
play college golf. Alix is a 4 year letter
winner for the Lady Jackets and is also a great student. ”
Caden Garner,
Senior for Men’s Golf was nominated by Coach Watkins. “Caden has led the Jackets in scoring in 2 of our 4 fall events. Caden is
a 3 year letterwinner and is currently working to earn a chance to play at the
next level. Caden is a hard worker and is always at the golf course. He is a
captain and leads by example to the younger kids on the team.”
Ethan Phelps,
Senior for Varsity Tennis was nominated by Coach Fulkerson. “He was undefeated the entire season at line one
up until the regional Quarterfinals.”
Josie Purcell,
Senior for Women’s Gymnastics was nominated by Coach Tyson. “Josie is new to the RHS program this year but is
already one of the strongest competitors in the state. She's an amazing leader
both physically and mentally for our team. Keep a lookout for her to do amazing
things throughout the entire season.”
Lexie Purcell, Senior Point Guard for Women’s Basketball was nominated by Coach Brewer. “Lexie was the MVP of the Dallas Mavs tournament and has helped lead our team to an 8-2 start in the month of November. She is one of our top scorers and leads our team in assists and steals. She makes such a positive impact on her team every day by the way she loves and serves her team through words of encouragement and her hard working work ethic.”
