Rockwall Jacket Athletes of the Month

Each month, the Jacket Backers, Rockwall High School’s Booster Club selects student athletes who are nominated by their coach for Jacket Athlete of the Month.  For the month of October, Margot Little, Seth Nuytlen, Gavin Figert and Sebastian Hinojosa were each nominated by their coaches and selected as Jacket Athletes of the Month.

Margot Little, Senior Swimmer is going to sign a national letter of intent to swim for the University of Houston.  “She has qualified for multiple state meets.  She's the current team record holder for the 100 Breaststroke and a great team captain.  The streak continues, another Rockwall HS Swimmer signs a national letter of intent to swim for a NCAA Division 1 school” shares Coach Partenheimer.

Seth Nuytlen, Senior Swimmer is the only Academic All-State team member from last year.  Coach Partenheimer adds, “Seth does great work in the water and the classroom, and a great kid that has all of his priorities straightened out.  Academics and Athletics are at the top of that list.”

Gavin Figert, Junior Gymnast competed in the Rockwall at Chisholm Trail on October 24th and finished 4th on Floor, 2nd on Pommel Horse, 1st on Vault and 3rd on High Bar.  “Gavin set 4 new personal records for himself at this meet, and scored for the team 3 times.  He also had two scores of 9.8 (pommel horse and vault).  Even though Gavin had several personal best routines, his high bar routine was the most impressive.  It was his first time competing high bar at this level.  He didn't have a full set until the day before the meet, but he still managed to hit his routine” states Coach Tyson.

Sebastian Hinojosa, Senior Football Player, Sebastian had 20 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, and 6 QB pressures during the Jackets' 4-0 month of October.  “Sebastian is having the best season of his career.  He has blossomed as a defensive player, coming from off the radar in the spring to being a full-time starter for our defense.  Sebastian has been a big reason for the October success of Jacket football” shares, Coach Webb.

Congratulations to each of these Rockwall High School Athletes!
