Rockwall Jacket Athletes of the Month

Each month, the Jacket Backers, Rockwall High School’s Booster Club selects student athletes who are nominated by their coach for Jacket Athlete of the Month.  For the month of August, Jaxon Smith and McKenzie Johnson were each nominated by their coaches and selected as Jacket Athletes of the Month.

Jaxon Smith, Senior Wide Receiver for Jacket Football caught 13 passes for 311 yards and 3 TDs in our season opening loss to Highland Park.  Jaxon Smith had an amazing game that Friday Night against Highland Park.  It's one of the greatest receiving performances in Texas high school football history.  Jaxon has moved up to 13th all-time career receptions in 6A history and he has also moved up to 23rd all-time TXHSFB career receiving yards and 4th all-time in 6A.

McKenzie Johnson, Junior Team Captain for Volleyball Lady Jackets, is a three year varsity starter and leads our team in digs, service points, and aces in August.  McKenzie is a D1 prospect.  She is currently being recruited by Gonzaga, SFA, and Auburn.  McKenzie is a tremendous competitor and leader.  She has the ability to control a match with her defense and serve receive, and she consistently makes her teammates better.
