If you went to a Rockwall High School Football game this season you saw a lot of touchdowns. After each of those touchdowns, the horn would blare, fans would go wild and the Flag Runners would run the field waving J-F-N-D honoring the boys in Orange for their accomplishment on the field. The fans in the stand would also hear General Sales Manager of Southwest KIA Rockwall, Joey Wilhoite, show his enthusiasm on the big screen scoreboard enjoying “Another Jacket Touchdown!”

Another great thing about the Jackets scoring is that for
each touchdown at Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium the Jacket Backers Booster
Club would receive $50 to add to the scholarship total that will be awarded to
a select group of high school senior student-athletes. With offensive weapons such as H-Back Brennan
Ray and Wide Receiver Caden Marshall, quarterback Braedyn Locke would help lead
the offense to a plethora of touchdowns.
Linebacker Deyreck Dean would even get in the mix scoring a TD himself
after a fumble recovery. By the time the
District 6A-10 Yellowjackets defeated the Wylie Pirates for the Bi-District
Championship; the grand total that will be awarded is $1700!
Brandon Morris who is the General Manager of Southwest KIA
Rockwall was very excited to take on the Jacket Backers Touchdown
Challenge. “I knew I would be seeing a
lot of touchdowns this season because Coach Brooks is one of the best offensive
minds in football! It gives me great
pleasure to be able to support Rockwall High School and the community. It’s very important that companies like
Southwest KIA support educational opportunities for our students giving them an
opportunity to make the most in life” shares Morris. “I look forward to doing it again next year!”
First Year Head Coach, Trey Brooks adds, “The support of
companies like Southwest KIA in Rockwall means so much to our programs at
Rockwall High School. I’m happy that we
were able to create a fun promotion that will end up benefiting deserving
seniors this year.”
Coach Brooks Jackets finished with an impressive 10-2 record
going 6-0 in District with big wins over Dallas Jesuit, Southlake Carroll,
crosstown rival Heath, Mesquite, Tyler Legacy, Skyline, Mesquite Horn, North
Mesquite and Wylie losing a tough match to top ranked DeSoto in the Area
Championship. The great thing about the
Jackets is that the football team will return Locke, Ray, Marshall and Dean who
have all been on Varsity since their sophomore seasons.
