Jacket Backers Athletes of the Month

Each month, the Jacket Backers, Rockwall High School’s Booster Club selects student athletes who are nominated by their coach for Jacket Athlete of the Month.  For the month of April Kendall Brown, Kennedy Shelton, Samantha Gillock, Reece Mcllroy, Alex Hoang and Jeremie Bomer were each nominated by their coaches and selected as Jacket Athletes of the Month.

Kennedy Shelton a Senior Female Gymnast placed 1st Place Team, Bars - 3rd Place, Beam - 3rd Place, Floor- 3rd Place, All-Around - 4th Place in the Regional Championships; 2ND Place Team, Beam - 2nd Place, Floor - 8th Place and All-Around - 24th (out of 130) in the State Championships. “Kennedy has been a true asset to the Rockwall High School Varsity program for 4 years.  She has led her team every step of the way and show true poise and determination to make herself and her team better.  Kennedy Shelton will always hold a special place in the lives of the people she touched while at RHS.  It's not too often a coach gets the opportunity to work with such a special young lady and I am blessed to have been her coach for 6 years.  She will be truly missed but her legacy will live on in the gymnastics program.  She is the true meaning of JFND” shares Coach Stephanie Tyson.

Kendall Brown a Senior Female Water Polo team member has been leading the team during the past 2 tournaments in steals.  She is also the defensive leader of the team.  “Although a defensive leader, but also starts the team on the offensive side too.  She has the arm strength to get the ball to her teammates and cut to the goal bringing in other defenders to try and stop her.  She's a great leader for the swim team and water polo teams.  She'll do great at Pepperdine” states, Coach David Partenheimer.

Reese McIlroy a Senior Male Water Polo Player had multiple blocks in each of the past tournaments while playing one of the hardest positions, goalie.  “Best work ethic of anyone.  He has been a great presence on our water polo team and swim team.  He'll do great things at Oklahoma Christian University next year” explains, Coach Partenheimer.

Samantha Gillock Female Tennis Player recommended by Coach Lana Fulkerson.

Alex Hoang Male Tennis Player recommended by Coach Lana Fulkerson.

Jeremie Bomer Senior for Jacket Baseball “threw a complete game no-hitter on April 5th vs North Mesquite in a 3-0 win. For the month of April he was 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA on the mound for the Rockwall baseball team.  Jeremie has been one of the top 2 pitchers for the Yellowjackets all season.  Jeremie is a 6'4" RHP that has a bright future on the mound in college” shares, Coach Barry Rose.
