Dig Pink® is a nationwide movement to provide meaningful and
impactful experiences for athletes while inspiring and empowering them to come
together in support of the stage IV breast cancer community. Each year, hundreds
of teams across the country (and some overseas) participate in Dig Pink®.
Through programs like Dig Pink, Rockwall High School
Volleyball program is partnering with Sideout Foundation by harnessing the
power and influence of sport to impact change by selling Dig Pink Rockwall High
School Volleyball T-Shirts for $20.
October 9th, Rockwall will host Mesquite High School in the
Dig Pink Volleyball Game. Be sure to
support a great cause and enjoy watching your Lady Jackets.
Side-Out is conducting a first of its kind clinical trial,
sponsored by the sport of volleyball, which is changing the way breast cancer
is treated.
Sideout Foundation’s clinical trial examines the effects of
individualized treatment on patients with metastatic breast cancer (stage IV).
Individualized treatment, known as targeted therapy, provides doctors a better
way to treat stage IV breast cancer, based not on the type of cancer, but on
its molecular architecture. This provides better therapy prediction and better
results and closer to removing the word ‘terminal’ from our cancer vernacular. Since 2010, the Side-Out Foundation has been
dedicated to funding breast cancer education and cutting-edge breast cancer
research/treatment in order to extend the lives of those living with stage IV.
Let’s keep up that spirit by giving to our "Dig Pink"
mission by being a supportive group to someone local who may be going through
and fighting breast cancer. WE can do this by purchasing shirts and wearing
them in the month of October and especially during our DIG PINK game on Tuesday
October 9th, 2018.
